Folk songs on kalimba

Folk songs were passed from voice to voice long before anybody wrote them down, and many of them have only five or six notes: perfect for a kalimba. This list goes around the world: Bella Ciao from Italy, Sakura Sakura from Japan, Scarborough Fair and London Bridge from England, Danny Boy (the Londonderry Air) from Ireland, Auld Lang Syne from Scotland, Frère Jacques and Au Clair de la Lune from France, and the American songs Oh! Susanna and Home on the Range.

They are sorted from the easiest. Where the song is sung on its Reel, the words are under the numbers, in their own language (the page says which); sing or hum them as you play, and the rhythm comes by itself. Sakura uses a Japanese scale, so it sounds very different with the same tines. Each tab has a video that plays the song once, then slowly with the numbers falling onto the tines, then at tempo, and a PDF to print.

These tunes are traditional and in the public domain: the tabs are free to print and share, at home or in class.
